Last night Didgeroo attended the launch of The Source - a brand new business directory covering all the wonderful creative and technical small businesses in the Shoreditch area.

Our neighbourhood here in Shoreditch is really starting to devlope a village-like sense of community amongst local buisnesses. This publication goes some way to solidify relationship by by listing all of us in one beautifully produced book.

Didgeroo goes to Buckingham Palace!

On 10 October, Didgeroo was asked to attend a round-table discussion with HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York. (more photos here).

The discussion was part of the TechCity UK initiative.

Prince Andrew wanted to know what he could personally do to assist companies like Didgeroo. I made the suggestion that it would be helpful if tech starts-ups could somehow tap into the wealth of knowledge that The City Of London, just a 1/4 mile down the road, has to offer.  His Royal Highness told us that he had many friends in The City so he would ask them and us over to his place for a get-together.

Buckingham Palace Invitation

So on 20 October, Didgeroo went to Buckingham Palace!

It was a wonderful evening, and an excellent opportunity to meet some very important people. It was also great to see some many friends and colleagues from the Silicon Roundabout area in attendance.

Lord Sassoon visits Didgeroo

On 9 September 2011, our office was visited by Lord Sassoon in his role as Commercial Secretary of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

UKTI have been busy setting up the TecCity UK initiative which hopes to encourage the growth of tech companies in Silicon Roundabout.

Lord Sasson was very interested in Didgeroo and the other tech startups we share our office with. There is obviously a growing number of companies like Didgeroo in the Old St / Shoreditch areas. The question is, what can the government do help and support us?

Didgeroo has moved office - just around the corner.

After a fantastic 18-months sharing office space with a bunch of tech start-ups on Hoxton St, it was time for Didgeroo to say goodbye.  Our landlord, Songkick.com,  required more space (well done guys!) so we had to move.

P9018994Shoreditch is booming with tech start-ups at the moment. The Silicon Roundabout and East London Tech City initiatives make for an exciting and vibrant place for our company to base itself. With this in mind we didn't want to move far, in fact our new office is just around the corner at:

Didgeroo Ltd

The Hoxton Mix
86 - 90 Paul Street (third floor)
London, EC2A 4NE

Shared Office Space

Once again we are sharing the space with a great bunch of tech start-ups. Sharing not only allows us to keep our costs down and our quotes competitive, but we also find it provides excellent networking opportunities.

A new year... a new office!

The new year brings some exciting news for Didgeroo. Over the Christmas break we moved into our new office in London's the uber-trendy Hoxton precinct, just north of the City.

Our new address is:

12-18 Hoxton Street (third floor)
Shoreditch, London
N1 6NG

The new office space is a converted warehouse shared amongst a dynamic group of dotcom startups. Some of these include:

The networking opportunities working alongside companies like these are sure to help advance Didgeroo.  These fantastic opportunities aren't just limited to our new office either,  since the local area around here is know as The Silicon Roundabout - London's answer to California's Silicon Valley.

So with this in mind, 2010 looks set to be an exciting year for Didgeroo!

UPDATE - Wired UK Magazine has publish an article. Read here and check out this great image they have made (unfortunately Didgeroo was too late to be included but you will find Songkick and others in our building listed)

UPDATE 31 JAN 2011:

Our shared office space here in Shoreditch has had plenty of comings and goings over the past 12 months. As of today, here's an updated list of tech companies sharing the same office as us:

Also, there has been plenty of media reports of late about London's Silicon Roundabout, mostly due to the governments £400 million pledge to encourage growth of a hi-tech hub in East London. Here's some recent press clippings:
